Colour: Good Colour is NO Colour.
While most diamonds appear white, many of them display hints of colour barely discernible to the naked eye. The closer a diamond approaches colourless, the rarer and more valuable the stone.
The Colour grading scale ranges from totally colourless to a light yellow, grey or brown tone. The differences between one grade and the other are very subtle, as can be seen by the number of categories with any one section. As with clarity and cut, the colour plays a large part in the beauty of the diamond and the item in which it is set so the reward is great in selecting the best colour.
Diamonds with a strong pure colour are extremely rare and are called “fancies”. Amongst them can be found pink, blue, yellow, green and orange.

No two Diamonds are the same. However to help reach values they are graded into a series of Colour categories ranging from ‘D’ Exceptional White to ‘S-Z’ Light Yellow.
